Hi, I'm Dr. Willie Eugene Marshall

WHERE I COME FROM

Reverend Dr. Willie Eugene Marshall hails from Peterman, Alabama, with his roots tracing back to Monroeville, a town renowned as the birthplace of the films “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “Just Mercy.” He the proud son of the late Presiding Elder James Marshall and Mrs. Lucy Ree Watts Marshall. A legacy of leadership runs in his family, as he is both a son and son-in-law to Presiding Elders, as well as a cherished nephew. This rich heritage has shaped Reverend Marshall's journey and commitment to his community.

A THRIVING CAREER

Dr. Marshall has dedicated 39 years to active ministry within the African Methodist Episcopal Church across Alabama and Missouri. Since 1996, he has represented his community as a General Conference Delegate and has spent 12 years as the Christian Education Director for the 9th Episcopal District AME Church in Alabama. In 2020, he proudly took on the role of Presiding Elder of the Ozark-Troy District, overseeing 28 churches and 25 pastors across seven counties in the Southeast Alabama Annual Conference of the 9th Episcopal District of the AME Church. His leadership continues to inspire and guide the growth of the church community.

I am dedicated to ministering to the whole person one individual at a time. The Marshall 4 Bishop 2028  mission is to help people and families transcend the hurt, pain, and wounds of their past, guiding them towards healing and hope. Together, we can foster a supportive environment that nurtures growth and transformation. Let us walk alongside you on this to a brighter future.

 

 

Dr. Marshall is a distinguished graduate of J.F. Shields High School in Beatrice, Alabama, class of 1983. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University in 1988, along with a minor in General Social Services. Furthering his education, he obtained a Master of Divinity degree in Christian Education from the Interdenominational Theological Seminary in Atlanta in 1993. In 2008, he achieved a Doctor of Ministry degree in Leadership Development and Organization Dynamics from United Theological Seminary, with a doctoral project focused on “Healing and Reconciliation in the 21st Century Church.”
